InDesign Tutorial

Image
As InDesign is a program I have never used before, and I shall have to use it a lot for my two projects, to first get a hang of it I am going to follow a basic tutorial. This is mostly so I can get to know the ropes with what functions it has, as well as how they specifically work, considering that the controls do shift within adobe's different software.  I have decided to follow this specific tutorial:  How to work with a multi-page document I do need to make one multi-page document in this My Hero unit, that being the souvenir, but I also know that I will be making a bigger multi-page document with the next project, so I want to get accustomed to that first. It is also the biggest difference between other adobe software, and I found multiple 'canvas' hard to work out at first on Illustrator, so I want to learn this from the start. The best thing with tutorials from Adobe themselves, is not only did they make the software so they know how to work it the best, but they also

Colours

It's important to think heavily about the colour scheme I am going to use for the My Hero project as it will need to be cohesive through out all of the assets that I create. It also needs to be representative of the Hero themselves. To do this I need to think about what Key colours people think of when they think of Gonzo, as well as then what colours work well with them. Gonzo himself likes vibrant almost clashing designs so I also need to take this into account when designing and combining colours, there is a level you can do for clashing colours that still looks good, but it's very easy to take too far and make it look really ugly, which would detract people. One of the most stand out colours when people think of Gonzo is the striking violet colour that makes up his main body, luckily this colour is already a known colour that people have worked out. (Violet, 2019) So this violet will be a main colour used within the pieces, as it's connected to Gonzo. However, due to l

My Hero

For the first half of this project I need to create a series of graphically designed items for 'My Hero', so the first thing for me to decide is who this Hero shall be. One of the main things I had to think about when deciding who this hero should be, is what audience would they draw in, as I will then have to design the work to match this audience as well as the Hero. All of the pieces will need to match the theme of the hero and the audience, and to make this easier I want to look at 'Hero's' that already have a very distinct theme or idea to them, to help keep to their brand. The idea of 'My Hero' is very broad so has given me a wide range of people to look through and come up with ideas, being a real person, a person from history, a mythical figure or a fictional character. Due to how wide this theme is, I want to look at a small range of heroes that fit different themes as well as audiences, before then working out which could be best to do. I need to

Graphic Design

What exactly is Graphic Design? Where will I find it? What's the key point of Graphic Design? Graphic Design involves both Text and Images, used in combination to convey some form of meaning or message. It's used to communicate with the viewer and can either be subtle in this narrative or more obvious to the audience.  You do need to make sure that the work, works for the message you're trying to communicate across to the audience to avoid errors and misunderstandings with the audience. To ensure this there is some things to consider: Function Target Market Aesthetics Layout If one of these points fail, then it will pull down the whole piece. With combining text and imagery, you need to ensure that they work well together, what area that the text takes up, the specific font it uses and how that works with the message you portray. Sometimes the text will need to be visible at a distance, other times only when you are close up to it, this depends on the use of the graphic de
